We
are pleased to announce that Over Farm Market is now safer and easier
to get to. Since the road works in 2008 we now have a dedicated set of
traffic lights right outside the shop.
The shop is split into various departments,
but all have one simple aim in mind… to provide the best locally
grown, fresh, seasonal produce. The products on offer may vary according
to season and the availability of products on the farm.
Latest Crops:
PYO Berries
Our Strawberry and Blackberry PYO fields
are now open. Please check the availability before travelling by checking
the latest updates on the front page.
Beetroot
Now being picked and available in bunches
or loose.
Lettuce
Most of our lettuce are now coming off the
farm, these include Little gems, Iceberg, Oakleaf and Lollo Rosso.
Rainbow Chard
Is ready and for sale in the shop, see
here for more info.
Calabrese
is now ready.
Broad Beans
Are crop of Broad Beans is now readyand availble daily in the shop.
Fruit and Vegetables
The Farm itself produces a large range of
80 different varieties of fruit and vegetables. What we don’t produce
we source locally, to make this one stop shop for all fresh produce.
All are grown seasonally so you can expect to see a large Asparagus crop
in the Spring, plenty of fresh juicy Strawberries during the Summer, Pumpkins
and Squashes ready for Hallowe'en and Sprouts by the bucket for Christmas!
Bakery and Cakes
Our well stocked bakery sells a variety of locally produced bread and
cake products. In addition, it also sells Savoury snacks and other delightful
treats. There's nothing quite like the smell of fresh bread as you open
the shop door.
Butchery
Along with Gurneys Butchers we are proud to offer free range Beef, Pork
and Lamb. All are raised on local farms with a high standard of welfare.
All beef sold in the shop is aged by at least three weeks, giving a more
tender and flavoursome meat.
We also sell free range chicken from the Crowsmoor Farm in Shropshire.
These are produced from organic chicks and are kept for a period of 11
- 12 weeks. This period exceeds standard free range and organic practice,
the result is a fine and healthy great tasting product.
Also new to the range are frozen pies and pasties. These are all made
at the Gurneys shop in Newent using all their own meats. The steak and
ale pies are proving to be very popular.
Orders for your deep freeze, parties and BBQ's (weather permitting!) are
always welcome. Easter and Christmas free range turkeys (sourced from
Minsterworth), most types of Game (shot on the farm) and Venison from
Cirencester complete a wide range and variety to suit all tastes.
Wine and Beer
The new beer, wines and liqueurs section
is proving to be very popular. There is a large selection of locally produced
beverages (the Cider comes recommended, hick!) Here are few of some of
the brewers we are proud to do business with:
• Stroud Brewery
• St Anne’s Vineyard
• Hayles Fruit Farm Ltd
• Days Cottage
• Three Choirs Vineyard
• Goffs Brewery
• Wickwar Brewing Company
• Battledown - the Cheltenham brewery
• Cotswold Country Liqueurs
• Severn Cider
Delicatessen
See the extensive cheese counter (smell the Stinking Bishop!) or browse
through a large selection of British produce including jams, pickles and
mustards. The quiches are a must...
Giftware
The latest addition to the shop is the new
loft area. Whether it's a souvenir gift to take home to family or a little
extra for Mum for Mother's Day, there is a wide selection and variety
of gifts and knick knacks on offers. Come at take a look on your next
visit.
Animal Food
Don't forget to purchase a small bag of
animal feed (adjacent to the counters) so you can have fun feeding our
animals. Children (and adults!) delight in feeding the donkey's and goats,
but only the brave go near Rafiki, our water-buffalo, but don't be afraid
he's very friendly. For more on our animals click the link to the left.
