Over Farm has been taking passengers around
the farm since 2003 and now has two comfortable, covered trailers (although
we regret we have no tea making or toilet facilities onboard!)
There are various trailer rides held throughout
the year, and depending upon your chosen event are designed to be fun,
entertaining, educational or scary!!!
The trailers hold 28 adults comfortably or 42 children. Each has wide
steps to access the seats and has a wheel chair ramp to allow two wheel
chairs on each trailer. The side fences prevent children from falling
out (and the animals from getting in!) but still give a good view of the
farm and it’s surroundings. We do our best to keep the side covers
rolled up, but they can be dropped to keep passengers dry in very bad
weather.
We welcome any new ideas and are always happy to offer the trailers for
private hire.

The Severn Bore is one of the UK’s few
spectacular natural phenomena. It is a large surge wave that can be seen
in the estuary of the River Severn, where the tidal range is the second
highest in the world.
This can be witnessed aboard one of our trailers and it really is a sight
that won’t be forgotten in a long time.
Trailers depart from Over Farm Market about an hour before the tidal bore
is expected. The ride to the river takes about 20 minutes and passengers
are then free to walk along the river bank if they wish.
As the bore approaches, those wishing to join the chase must climb aboard
the trailer, ready to chase the tide as it rushes past. Anyone choosing
to watch from the river bank will be collected on the return journey.
The chase will continue for about half a mile giving plenty of opportunity
for everyone to see it as it races up the river.
2012 promises to see some really good sized bores.
Dates:
The dates for 2012 can be found by clicking
here.
Costs:
The bore rides for must be booked in groups of 10 of more for £5
per person. To book a trailer for a group (maximum 28 people per trailer)
only £100.
Duration:
Rides last approx two hours.
We can also arrange night-time BBQ's for the August and September bores.
Leave times will be approximately two hours before day time schedules
to allow time to enjoy the BBQ by the river before the bore arrives.
Approximate costs would be £15 per person. A minimum number of 20
people are required for this ride. Please express your interest in one
of the dates by emailing us your details.
It must be remembered that this is a natural event and can vary in its
size depending on weather conditions. Please wear walking shoes or boots
as you will be walking and standing in grass that cattle have been grazing,
and therefore cowpats are plentiful, and whilst we don’t mind dirty
trailers… we don’t want them too smelly!

During spring 2010 we cleaned an old wooden
barn out and in May we hosted our first wedding in this lovely old building.
It is a great venue for themed parties such as medieval banquets, weddings,
pig roasts and BBQ's.
The venue is available to hire and has it's own website. You can visit
it by clicking here.

During 2004 we created a classroom out of
an old cow byre. This has proved very popular with schools around the
area that have arranged school trips to Over Farm.
For more information on school visits please click
here to visit our dedicated education page.

This Christmas on the farm, we’ve made
a few changes to our winter activities. Farmer Christmas has setup camp
in the field along with some of his helpful Elves.
Children and adults alike can come and visit Farmer Christmas in his wintery
hideout… if you can find him! Will he be hidden in his bedroom?
Or maybe in the toy factory? Either way, he has a stocking of goodies
for anyone that manages to find him.
Whilst at the farm, why not take a trailer (sleigh) ride in search of
lost Elf hats. Children will be given a quiz sheet to answer a few simple
questions on the way around and to see how many Elf hats they can spot.
If you happen to come to the farm on the 10th December between 12.30 and
3 p.m., you may well find some Huskies have come on a visit from Arctic
Quest. You’ll be welcome to pet them, and ask any Husky related
question you can think of to the Tewkesbury based team.
